Finland is supporting Indonesia and Pacific countries in preparing for climate change and extreme weather through a new cooperation project involving the Finnish Meteorological Institute.
Finland will allocate EUR 2.55. million for preparedness for extreme weather events in Indonesia.
The PACIDFIN project will be implemented by the Finnish institute together with the Pacific Meteorological Council and the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics. The initiative aims to strengthen countries’ ability to prepare for and respond to increasingly frequent and severe weather events.
For Indonesia, the cooperation brings Finnish expertise in meteorology and climate-related services to a region increasingly exposed to extreme weather and the impacts of climate change.
The project is part of Finland’s broader development and climate cooperation with countries in the Indo-Pacific
