The family of a 15-year-old Thai-French boy who died following a road accident in Chon Buri is continuing to seek answers nearly seven months after the crash, according to Thai Examiner.
Tommy Boulanger was riding a motorcycle in Nong Prue, Pattaya, on February 20 when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by a Chinese national identified as Wang Xian. Tommy suffered severe brain injuries and died in hospital seven days later.
An arrest warrant was later issued for Wang, but he has not yet been located, according to Thai media reports. The family has also offered a 100,000-baht reward for information leading to his arrest.
On September 16, Tommy’s Thai mother and Swedish stepfather went to Chon Buri Provincial Police headquarters to ask about the progress of the case. The family says it has incurred more than 1.2 million baht in medical and other expenses following the crash.
Police have said the case will be forwarded to provincial command for further action.
The case has drawn attention within Thailand’s foreign community, with the boy’s French heritage and Swedish stepfather adding an international dimension to the family’s efforts to have the case resolved.
