Finland’s Minister for Nordic Cooperation and Education Anders Adlercreutz will visit Brunei on 27–28 April to take part in the ASEAN–EU foreign ministers’ meeting.
The biennial meeting between the European Union and ASEAN will be held on 28 April. Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening cooperation between the two regions, alongside key international issues.
The EU is seeking to deepen collaboration across several sectors and prepare for a summit next year marking 50 years of ASEAN–EU relations.
During the visit, Adlercreutz is also scheduled to meet bilaterally with Brunei’s Minister of Education.
Finland has in recent years increased its engagement with Southeast Asia. In 2025, the country joined the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia, aimed at strengthening dialogue and trade ties with the region.
