Finnish education conference held in Kuala Lumpur

Finland and Malaysia are connecting and collaborating to drive education forward.

Mr. Olli-Pekka Heinonen, DG at the Finnish National Agency for Education, Opetushallitus – Utbildningsstyrelsen visited Kuala Lumpur on 17 October, where the Education Ministry, with the cooperation of the Malaysian International Islamic University, organised a seminar on the Finnish Education System, held at the university’s main campus in Gombak.

There he held a speech to Ministry of Education officials and teachers, met the Minister of Education, YB Maszlee Malik, and held an evening reception at the Ambassador´s residence.

Education Finland Director Mr Lauri Tuomi as well as Finnish education export companies EduCluster Finland Oy, Oulun yliopisto – University of Oulu (Teacher training) and Spinfy accompanied Mr. Heinonen to the conference, where they got to interact with the conference participants in the afternoon group discussions.

“Soaring interest towards Finnish teaching methods, a load of things to follow up!” reported the Embassy of Finland in Kuala Lumpur.
