Finnish companies are still focusing on China, even though there are growing political tensions in the world.

According to CGTN, Finnish companies expressed continued interest in China as business leaders gathered in Beijing for the China Development Forum.

Trust is key

At the forum, the Finnish company KONE said trust is key when working in China.

“Prime Minister Orpo went to China to reinforce the trust that has been built over time, which is actually very parallel to the trust that KONE has been building with the China-based ecosystem and its customers,” Philippe Delorme, President and CEO of KONE, said.

Petteri Orpo visited China earlier this year, showing that Finland is still working closely with the country.

China still important

China remains an important market for many companies, CGTN reports.

At the forum, China’s Premier, Li Qiang, said countries should work together and avoid trade barriers.

Even though there are political tensions, companies say they stay in China because the market is big, growing fast, and offers many business opportunities.
