Finnish school programme wins innovation award

The learning concept Me & My City was awarded as the winner of World Innovation Summit for Education on Monday the 15th of September.

The programme is meant to promote entrepeneurship and teach children about economy and society. It imitates a miniature city where children can participate in the micro-society through different professions and impact the city as consumers and residents.

Accroding to Finnish national broadcaster YLE there are currently 6 micro-cities in operation and 2 more are to open this year. When the 8 cities are up and running around 70 percent of the 6th graders in Finland will be part of the programme in one way or another.
