IKEA China unveils local innovation strategy at 8th China International Import Expo

IKEA China will present a series of new products and sustainability collaborations under the theme “Home is more than you think” at the upcoming 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai from 5 to 10 November 2025.

The Swedish furniture giant will showcase its latest innovations, partnerships, and consumer insights in a 360-square-meter pavilion inspired by Nordic ideas of harmony between people and nature. Designed with aurora borealis effects and paper-folding elements, the space represents the “infinite possibilities of home life,” according to the company.

A key feature of the exhibition is a pilot project for endangered species protection, developed with the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center of China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

This year’s event also marks the 75th anniversary of China–Sweden diplomatic relations, and IKEA is contributing to the Swedish national pavilion with a functional design that promotes cultural exchange. Visitors will be invited to take part in interactive activities, including culinary and craft workshops exploring new approaches to modern home living.
