Kick-starting 2014 Swedish-Indonesian partnership

The Swedish Embassy and the Swedish business community jointly held on 21 January 2014 a brainstorming session on ways to promote Swedish-Indonesian partnership in 2014.swe_indo_2014

After a welcoming and a short introduction of the guests by the Ambassador Ewa Polano, the first speaker, the Swedish Ambassador to the Republic of Korea HE Lars Danielsson, offered a fascinating presentation on the subject of Swedish Innovation and how it has made an impact on South Korea.

Hans Pohl, Program Director of STINT, the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education told us more about the potential of increased collaboration in research and higher education between Indonesia and Sweden.

The Swedish National Agency for Economic Regional Growth was also represented by Marcus Liu who presented what his agency could do to help Swedish companies with investments in Indonesia. Chairman of the Swedish Business Association, Per Brandt also shared the planed events of for the coming year from the SBA.

The Innovation Sweden exhibition, which will open in Jakarta on the 1st of April, was also presented by the Embassy of Sweden, Business Sweden and the Indonesian International Institute of Life Sciences (i3L).

Finally, upcoming efforts and events by the Embassy of Sweden and Business Sweden were presented by Deputy Head of Mission Daniel Johansson and Trade Commissioner Erik Milfors. The meeting was followed by a New Year’s Buffet dinner and, of course, some intensive mingling!
