Denmark’s new ambassador to Vietnam and Laos, Lina Gandløse Hansen, has arrived in Hanoi to begin her diplomatic posting.
The Danish Embassy in Vietnam announced her arrival on social media, describing it as a special return to a country she has visited several times before.
In the coming weeks, Gandløse Hansen is expected to hold her first meetings and begin her work to further strengthen relations between Denmark and Vietnam.
She took up the position on 1 August, succeeding Nicolai Prytz.
Before becoming ambassador, Gandløse Hansen served as Denmark’s State Secretary for Trade and Investment. Her diplomatic career has also included positions as Consul General in Munich and trade assignments at the Danish embassies in Washington and Paris.
As previously reported by ScandAsia, she will also be responsible for Denmark’s diplomatic relations with Laos from the embassy in Hanoi.
