Nordic countries are leading in business digitalisation in 2019

The European Commission published an overall report of their member countries regarding performance in digitalisation update on 11 June 2020. The Digital Economy and Society Index 2020 (DESI) reports that Finland, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands scored the highest ratings from 2019. According to the report Denmark especially stands out when it comes to connectivity, as the coverage of 4G is far above the EU average. While Finland represents a particular strength in digital skills and in digital public services.

Sweden scores well in all dimensions and was ranks 3rd in DESI 2017. It ranks the highest in the use of internet by citizens. Sweden is among the best performing countries worldwide and its main challenge is to continuously improve its already high levels of digitisation.Norway scores very well in broadband connectivity, internet use, business digitisation and digital public services. Norway is also above average on digital skills.
