Norway has been named Guest Country of Honor at the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), one of the world’s largest events focused on global services trade, XINHUA reports.
The announcement was made in Beijing, where Norway highlighted plans to present its strengths in green energy, marine technology and life sciences.
CIFTIS is held annually in Beijing and brings together governments and companies to promote cooperation in sectors such as finance, technology, tourism and environmental services. Unlike traditional trade fairs, it focuses on services rather than physical goods.
The Guest Country of Honor role rotates between major economies, with Australia holding the position in 2025 and France in 2024.
Norway is expected to use the platform to strengthen ties with China, particularly in areas linked to sustainability and the green transition.
