Norwegian consulate holds charity fun run in Shanghai

On the First Saturday of 2014, the Charity and Health Run Activity “Run for Love”, organized by BI Norwegian Business School and School of Management/Fudan University’s MBA Program, in partnership with the charity organization One Foundation, took place in Shanghai Pudong Century Park.

The Norwegian Consul General in Shanghai Mr. Øyvind Stokke welcomed all the participants and said in his speech that “When running and doing sports you run for yourselves, your own health and your own well-being. When In a charity run like this one, you also run for others, you run for others’ health and well-being, you run for a good cause”. All are winners together with the corporate sponsors taking part as well because all of them are showing social responsibility, as he put it.

The “Run for Love” activity attracted more than 500 participants and over 55 volunteers as well as a great number of sponsors. The amount of 19,000RMB charity fund has been raised. The organizer – BI Fudan MBA Programme will donate the full amount of the fund to the 200 abandoned children living in the poor areas in the western Hunan Province, helping the children with a warmth bag, backed with winter clothes, shoes and schools supplies before Chinese New Year.
