Norwegian seafood exports to Thailand increased by 7% in value during the first seven months of 2026, reaching approximately NOK 2.05 billion (THB 7 billion), according to the Norwegian Seafood Council.

The figures were announced as Seafood from Norway launched its new The Story from the Sea campaign in Thailand on September 1.

The campaign features Thai-Norwegian actress and long-time brand ambassador Urassaya “Yaya” Sperbund and highlights the people and coastal communities behind Norway’s seafood industry.

Imports of fresh Norwegian salmon and fjord trout increased by 15% during January to July, reaching 20,488 tonnes.

Thailand is the second-largest seafood market for Norway in Southeast Asia. The new campaign aims to strengthen awareness of Norwegian seafood among Thai consumers while highlighting Norwegian coastal culture, food traditions and sustainability.

The campaign also includes a promotion giving Thai consumers the opportunity to win a trip to Norway.
