Thai drag performer Pangina Heals takes centre stage in HEALS, a documentary screening at Copenhagen’s Empire Bio on 3 November.
The Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen will host a special reception before the screening, which forms part of the MIX Copenhagen LGBTQIA+ Film Festival.
Directed by Pailin Wedel, the documentary follows Pangina’s journey from a difficult childhood to an international career in drag. It explores family relationships, identity and how performance can help heal personal wounds.
The film also examines the performer’s relationship with a traditional Thai-Chinese family and the support found within the drag community.
