The Philippines lifts its import ban on Swedish poultry products following the containment of the avian influenza outbreak in Sweden.

The Department of Agriculture (DA) announced that poultry meat, eggs, chicks, and other bird products from Sweden will now be allowed into the country again, provided they meet strict food safety standards.

The ban was imposed back in March due to concerns over avian flu. With no new cases reported, the DA has reopened the market to Swedish poultry.

The  Philippines also recently lifted its ban on Danish poultry imports, following the resolution of an avian flu outbreak in Denmark.

However, the DA continues to restrict poultry imports from California, the Czech Republic, and India. This is because of ongoing outbreaks of bird flu and foot-and-mouth disease.
