Ready, set, cook! Malaysian IKEA competition

IKEA Malaysia crowned 2025 cook-off champions in Cheras, Tebrau and Batu Kawan, awarding RM10,000 kitchen makeovers and celebrating Swedish–Malaysian fusion.

IKEA Malaysia has concluded its 2025 Ultimate Cook-Off, naming champion teams at in-store finals in Cheras, Tebrau and Batu Kawan. Each winning team receives a kitchen makeover worth RM10,000 as part of the retailer’s nationwide “House Party” campaign.

The competition asked home cooks to reinterpret Swedish staples with Malaysian flavours, spotlighting Nordic–Southeast Asia culinary crossover. Crowds gathered at the three stores for live heats, tastings and stage activities.

Celebrity hosts and judges, including well-known Malaysian food and entertainment personalities, guided the sessions and selected the winners based on taste, creativity and presentation.

IKEA said the cook-off was designed to celebrate “joy at home” and affordability, while engaging customers through classes, demos and interactive programming across its Malaysian stores.
