On Sunday 25 May 2025, Scandinavian residents and visitors in Pattaya came together for a special worship service at the Norwegian Seamen’s Church in Jomtien. The service featured a sermon in Danish by Nicolaj Stubbe Hørlyck, the Danish pastor currently serving with the Danish Church in Thailand.
Attendees sang familiar hymns in both Danish and Norwegian, accompanied by piano and saxophone/clarinet. After the service, guests enjoyed coffee and traditional Norwegian waffles in the garden courtyard, providing a chance to connect with fellow Scandinavians in the area.
Later in the afternoon, Pastor Hørlyck hosted an informal gathering at Café Jensen, offering those interested a chance to learn more about the Danish Church in Thailand and engage in relaxed conversation. No registration was required, and individual meetings with the pastor could be arranged by request.
