Sida supports UNDP Myanmar Region Situation Analysis report

Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) assisted United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Myanmar to launch its report on Situation Analysis of Region and State Hluttaw. The report was also supported by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DFID). A Hluttaw is an administrative assembly in Myanmar. Apart from the State Hluttaw (State Assembly), Myanmar also has eighteen Regional Hluttaws.

At the launching ceremony on 4 March 2019, the opening remark was presented by Peter Batchelor, UNDP Country Director for Myanmar.

He emphasized that the report on Situation Analysis can provide Hluttaws with the necessary evidences for planning development in Myanmar.

According to UNDP’s press release, the report was expected to serve as a reference handbook for the future development of all Region and other regions can consider a positive development in Hluttaw as good practices to be applied in their development plan.
