Sun Sun Lim received an honorary doctorate from the University of Copenhagen. The ceremony was held at Vor Frue Plads in Copenhagen.

Lim is Professor of Communication and Technology at Singapore Management University. She also serves as SMU’s Vice President for Partnerships and Engagement.

SMU said she is the first Singaporean to receive the university’s honorary doctorate. The university has awarded honorary doctorates since 1927.

SMU said Lim’s work examines how digital communication shapes everyday life, families, and young people. Her research includes studies on youth, “face,” and digital parenting.

Lim delivered an honorary lecture and launched her book, “Humanising Technology,” in Copenhagen. She also led masterclasses on research communication for emerging academics.
