Successful launching of first ever Sweden-Indonesia Business Guide

The first ever Sweden Indonesia Business Guide was launched on Monday 29 February by Swedish ambassador Johanna Brismar Skog.

The event took place at the Swedish resident in Jakarta, which was filled with 50 guests. They were welcomed with a warm welcome and an opening speech by the ambassador, followed by another welcoming address by Swedish Trade Commissioner Anders Wickberg.

They launched Sweden Indonesian Business Guide, which is a tool to increase bilateral trade.

At the moment Swedish companies, together with their local partners, already contribute with 20.000 direct jobs, and around 200.000 indirect to Indonesia. The Business Guide will help to increase business cooperation between Sweden and Indonesia.

“The Business Guide is a tool to increase commercial cooperation between companies in our two countries. By assempling all information about Swedish linked business activities in Indonesia, as well as support that different organisations can provide to both Indonesian and Swedish companies, we hope to increase the bilateral trade,” says Johanna Brismar Skog.

Hariyadi B. Sukamdani, spokesman from The Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo), discussed the Indonesian economy and its future, and together with Johanna and Anders Wickberg, the three parts signed an cooperation agreement together to strengthen the commercial ties between the two countries.

“..by signing a cooperation agreement with Apindo we will have a perfect platform to deepen our already thriving collaboration,” says Anders Wickberg.

After the agreement was signed the attendants could all enjoy a dinner reception.

“It was a successfull event,” says Leo Ljungdell Kristensen, intern at the Swedish Embassy in Jakarta.
