Swedes in Vietnam can vote in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City

Swedish voters in Vietnam can cast their ballots in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City ahead of the 2026 parliamentary election.

Swedish citizens in Vietnam will be able to cast their votes ahead of Sweden’s parliamentary election at voting stations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The Swedish Embassy in Hanoi will receive voters on 20, 22 and 26 August as well as 3 September.

In Ho Chi Minh City, voting will be available at the Swedish Honorary Consulate on 21, 22, 25 and 26 August.

Sweden will hold elections to the Riksdag, regional councils and municipal councils on Sunday, 13 September 2026. Swedish citizens abroad can only vote in the parliamentary election.

Voters must be able to verify their identity, for example with a Swedish passport, an identity card or valid local identification. A voting card is useful but is not required to cast a vote abroad.

The embassy is located at Daeha Business Center, 15th floor, 360 Kim Ma in Hanoi. The honorary consulate is located at 15 Le Thanh Ton Street in Ho Chi Minh City.

Swedes who cannot attend one of the voting stations may instead vote by post from abroad. Postal votes can be sent from 30 July 2026 and should be mailed as early as possible to ensure they arrive in time to be counted.

The embassy has not yet included specific opening hours in its announcement. Voters are therefore advised to check Sweden Abroad for updates before visiting.

Information about voting from abroad is also available from the Swedish Election Authority.
