Swedish ambassador visits largest Swedish employer in the Philippines

Sweden’s Ambassador to the Philippines, Anna Ferry, recently visited Transcom Asia, the largest Swedish company in the country, marking her first official visit to the firm’s Philippine operations.

Accompanied by Trade Commissioner Johan Lennefalk, Senior Trade Promotion Officer Giselle Yap, and Consultant Mae Balandan, the ambassador toured Transcom’s facilities at Tiendesitas and Ayala 30th in Pasig City.

The delegation, referred to by the embassy as “Team Sweden,” was hosted by Transcom’s operations and business support leadership teams.

Transcom expressed appreciation to the Swedish Embassy for supporting its engagement with local authorities, including assistance from the Pasig City government in resolving operational challenges.

In addition to showcasing its customer service operations, the visit included a look at Transcom’s employee-focused facilities such as a gym, pharmacy, game room, karaoke station, and childcare center.

The visit coincided with the company’s celebration of its 30th anniversary since it was founded in Sweden in 1995 by investment company Kinnevik. Today, Transcom is headquartered in Stockholm and operates globally across Europe, North America, and Asia.

Transcom provides customer service, technical support, sales, and content moderation services for international clients in fintech, e-commerce, telecommunications, and other sectors. It is majority-owned by Altor Fund IV, with key minority ownership held by entrepreneur Gunilla von Platen and the company’s leadership team.

Two of its subsidiaries, Awesome OS and Xzakt, also contribute to Transcom’s global footprint, with Awesome OS focusing on digital support services in Asia and Xzakt serving tech and e-commerce companies in Scandinavia.
