
The Swedish Club has entered into a strategic partnership with Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance Company, part of Ping An Group, to strengthen its presence in the Chinese market. The agreement was announced on Monday 15 September 2025.
This is the first partnership of its kind for The Swedish Club in China. By working with Ping An, the Club will be able to provide enhanced local support for shipowners, operators and charterers through Ping An’s nationwide network. Members will continue to benefit from The Swedish Club’s international expertise while also gaining easier access to local services, infrastructure and financial strength.
“China is at the heart of global shipping, and working alongside Ping An enables us to serve our members with even greater efficiency, insight, and local presence,” said Thomas Nordberg, Managing Director of The Swedish Club.
According to Ping An, the collaboration combines international best practice with in-depth local knowledge, offering innovative insurance and risk management solutions tailored to the Chinese maritime industry. The partnership also aims to support the long-term growth of maritime trade and risk management in the region.
The Swedish Club has been present in Hong Kong since 1982, and this new collaboration underlines its commitment to expanding in Greater China and to serving members in one of the world’s most important shipping markets.
