On September 13th the WE-WOMEN NETWORK invited to a panel discussion with the topic “Beyond Gender: Co-Creating a World of Gender Equality and Mutualism” at Radisson Blue Sukhumvit.

- The panel consisted of Mrs. Cai, Chief, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Section, United Nations ESCAP (Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific)
- Dr. Prayouth Benyasut, Senior Thai Government Official, Former Deputy Director General, Ministry of Commerce, Former Minister (Commercial Affairs), Royal Thai Embassy, USA
- Mrs. Anna Olsson-Moore, Executive Director, Thai Swedish Chamber of Commerce (SweCham) specializing in international collaboration, strategic partnerships, marketing, and project leadership.
- Mr. Karun Buddharaja, Senior Vice President-Marketing International Communication and Employer Brand, Amadeus IT Group.
- Moderator of the evening was Dr. Manisha Bose, Lecturer, Assumption University & Founder WE-WOMEN NETWORK.
Dr. Bose pursued a PhD-balancing motherhood and academic ambitions-as a deliberate choice to achieve both personal fulfillment and professional growth. After having completed her doctorate, she started teaching at the Assumption University. She has dedicated almost two decades to volunteering with Baanunrak, a children’s home near the Thailand-Myanmar border.
Dr. Bose also serves as the Thailand Chapter Head of #Women Power, a global movement celebrating womanhood across 23 countries.
WE-WOMEN NETWORK welcomes women from all walks of life, delivering a diverse and enriching exchange of experiences. Monthly workshops are hosted by the community. The initiative benefits from venue sponsorship by Mr. Sunil Kothari at the legendary, beautiful Pacific City Club.
Dr. Bose emphasizes the importance of recognizing one’s inner strength. She encourages women to prioritize their wellbeing as “if you don’t do the best for you, you want be able to do the best for anybody else. “She urges support for women’s empowerment as a meaningful partnership-not a competition.
The gathering was very well attended, with the Indian community in clear majority.
We listened to the Indian Ambassador, who spoke about the importance of equal rights between man and women. He offered us a glimpse into his family life – surrounded by women only, his wife and daughters – and joked about his wife’s refined ability to persuade him to do whatever she wished, always with grace and finesse.
While great progress has been made in terms of gender equality, most of us agreed that there is still a long way to go.
Anna Olsson Moore highlighted a familiar scenario: in professional settings, women are often expected to take on supportive or administrative tasks rather than being recognized for their strategic contributions. Such assumptions not only overlook individual strengths but also reinforce outdated patterns.
She emphasized the importance of addressing these dynamics directly and ensuring that responsibility is shared fairly. By doing so, women create space to contribute on equal terms and strengthen their presence in decision-making forums.

The evening showcased women from diverse fields – IT, health, yoga, and caregiving – each driven by the vision to prove that women can, and will, dedicate themselves to making the world better.
The event finished with an excellent buffet consisting of all the Indian delicacies and a few European, all sponsored by an Indian gentleman. We were probably all in agreement that it turned out to be both an interesting and very enjoyable evening, one that will hopefully be followed up in the future.
