Swedish investment firm EQT is considering selling two English-language education businesses in Vietnam in a deal that could be worth around US$500 million, according to Bloomberg.
The businesses are ILA Vietnam and Vietnam-USA Society English Centers (VUS), two major providers of English-language education in the country.
EQT has owned ILA Vietnam since 2017. It also became the owner of VUS in 2022 through its acquisition of Baring Private Equity Asia.
The potential sale is still at an early stage, and there is no guarantee that a deal will take place.
EQT is one of Sweden’s largest investment firms and has investments across Europe, Asia and other markets.
