Swedish literature takes the spotlight at Manila International Book Fair

Swedish literature will have a dedicated spot at this years Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) running from September 9-13 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The Embassy of Sweden, together with Fully Booked Manila will be launching a “Read Sweden” booth at this years Manila International Book Fair.

“I’m happy that we can make Swedish books more available for Filipino readers. At the Embassy, my colleagues and I had a fun time choosing the books. These novels are well-liked in Sweden and in other countries, and we made sure that there’s a title that will cater to every reader,” said H.E. Anna Ferry, Ambassador of Sweden to the Philippines.

The “Read Sweden” Booth will feature books from authors like Fredrik Backman, Jonas Hassen Khemiri, David Lagercrantz and Astrid Lindgren, with genres spanning literary fiction, Nordic Noir, thriller and childrens books.

According to the Swedish embassy, The booth will be located on second floor, booth 2-119, at Manila International Book Fair 2026. The opening hours will be 10 A.M. to 8 P.M. September 9-13.
