In an extraordinary twist of fate, a Swedish man celebrating a monumental win on the V75 betting system has taken home an incredible 2.8 million kronor, sparking excitement and intrigue in the betting community. In a generous spirit, he shared half a million with friends before embarking on a long-awaited trip to Thailand, exclaiming, “I just want to have fun!”
The winnings came when the man, who wished to remain anonymous, placed his bet during a dinner party. Although he couldn’t watch the races live, he followed the results closely on his phone, experiencing a thrilling moment as each race unfolded. “I didn’t expect this; it was a lot of fun,” he told Trav365.
The payout of 2,703,199 kronor resulted from two surprising upsets during the V75 races. In V75–1, the horse Västerbo Blizzard won with only a 0.98% betting share, and in V75–6, the 104-odds horse The World is Mine emerged victorious, supported by just 0.38% of the bets. “I included every horse in those two races,” he shared.
The system he used, which cost 336 kronor to play, was submitted almost by chance. “I was just going to withdraw some cash and ended up placing a bet at Coop in Södertälje while picking up something from my daughter,” he explained.
When his final horse, Currency Artist, won V75–7 with driver Ulf Ohlsson, the realization of a 2.8 million kronor victory sank in. “I watched the race afterward; it came down to a photo finish. Usually, I end up with small winnings, so this was unbelievable.”
At the celebratory gathering, he generously gifted each of his friends 100,000 kronor. “I shared the wealth because it helps ease worries,” he said. “I bet every Saturday and sometimes during the week when there’s a jackpot. I’ve never won anything close to this before.”
Trip to Thailand to celebrate
After his victory, the man embarked on his planned trip to Thailand the very next day. “I am on sick leave, having dealt with neck problems for 2.5 years. I’ve had surgery, but it hasn’t improved. However, there are those who have it worse, dealing with constant pain,” he said.
He had hoped to meet Ulf Ohlsson, the driver of his winning horse, on the flight to Thailand but missed him at the airport due to the crowd. “It was so busy; I didn’t see him,” he explained.
As he settles into Thailand’s warm climate, he expressed his excitement: “It’s great to be here; it’s around 30 degrees. I’m going to have fun.”
With his winnings, the man looks forward to enjoying his time in Thailand, proving that sometimes, fortune favors those who take a chance.
