Taiwan appoints new representative to Sweden

Phoebe Yeh, Taiwan’s representative to Malaysia, is appointed the new representative to Sweden.

On 22 November 2025, Taiwan’s Executive Yuan announced new diplomatic appointments. Phoebe Yeh, currently Taiwan’s representative to Malaysia, will become the new representative to Sweden.

Yeh previously served as director of the Bureau of Consular Affairs and as deputy representative to Indonesia. She will fill the vacancy left after former Swedish representative Gu Ruey sheng who will be transferred to Germany in October.

Sweden hosts many Nordic and international companies working with Asia, making the Stockholm post strategically important for Taipei. The new appointments are part of wider personnel changes approved recently by Taiwan’s Executive Yuan. Sweden does not recognize Taiwan as a sovereign state due to Sweden’s “One China” policy, but Sweden maintains diplomatic ties with Taiwan.
