Artificial intelligence is placed at the centre of a new exhibition in Finland.
Taiwanese artist Yu-Hsuan Yao presents Thank You Babe But a Statistical Midpoint Is Just Not Enough at Galleriaia from 13 February to 8 March.
Yu-Hsuan Yao is a Finland-based Taiwanese visual artist. She works primarily with moving image and photography. She also experiments with new media such as 360-degree video and audiovisual performance.
Her practice explores the merging of cultural differences, sustainable development, and the translation of perspectives from the social sciences into artistic form.
In this exhibition, artificial intelligence is treated as the creative subject rather than a tool.
The exhibition rethinks the role and power of authorship by asking whether an artwork still belongs to the human when creative instructions come from AI and humans execute them.
The exhibition runs from 13 February to 8 March at Galleriaia.
