On 25 September, Nokia announced that Telin Singapore (Telekomunikasi Indonesia International Pte Ltd) has selected its optical transport solution to interconnect data centers across the city-state. The upgraded infrastructure aims to provide scalable, reliable, and low-latency connectivity for global technology companies and hyperscalers operating in Singapore.
The deployment will use Nokia’s latest generation of pluggable coherent optical technology and the 1830 GX compact modular platform. This will allow Telin to deliver cost-efficient, high-capacity connections between strategically located data centers, enhancing services for its customers.
For people and businesses, stronger data center interconnectivity means faster, more stable digital services, including cloud applications, video streaming, and online platforms. It also supports the development of emerging technologies such as AI, which rely on efficient data processing and transfer.
Indarto Nata, CEO of Telin Singapore, highlighted that the collaboration will help modernize the network and expand services to meet growing bandwidth needs. Ron Johnson, Senior Vice President at Nokia, underlined the importance of strengthening Singapore’s digital foundation as demand increases in the AI era.
Telin’s expanded network is expected to further reinforce Singapore’s role as a regional digital hub by supporting the growing needs of businesses and international partners.
