Thai Airways has joined hands with Seafood from Norway to launch the campaign “From Sea to Sky: 120 Years of Friendship”, marking 120 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Norway.
According to Pirun Sakulthong, Head of the Nordic Region at Thai Airways International PCL, the collaboration supports Thailand’s role as a logistics hub for high-quality Norwegian seafood exports via the daily direct Bangkok–Oslo flight. Thai Airways’ flight connections across Asia enable fast, quality-preserving distribution of seafood to destinations such as Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea.
“Norway is one of the world’s largest seafood exporters, sending 15–18 tonnes of fresh salmon per day to Thailand and onward to the region,” Pirun said.
The cooperation aligns with Thai Airways’ 65th anniversary celebrations under the theme “Grace to Growth”, and the one-year anniversary of the resumed Bangkok–Oslo route, which plays a strategic role in both passenger travel and cargo transport, particularly tourism between Thailand and Scandinavia.
Oshild Nakkjen, Regional Director for Southeast Asia at the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC), said it was an honour to collaborate with the national airline of Thailand. She emphasized the NSC’s commitment to introducing high-quality and sustainable Norwegian seafood to Thai consumers and providing a genuine taste of cold, clean Norwegian waters.
The campaign consists of three phases:
- Norwegian Mackerel Campaign: 15 May – 15 June 2025
- Salmon Campaign: July – August 2025
- Seafood from Norway Festival: early September 2025
Consumers participating in the campaign can win one of six round-trip tickets between Bangkok and Oslo, with a total value of over 390,000 baht, by purchasing Seafood from Norway products at participating retailers and restaurants nationwide.
