The Thai-Nordic Association held its 106th Annual General Meeting at The Royal Bangkok Sports Club on Wednesday, 23 April 2025. The meeting was chaired by former Chairman Leo Alexandersen, who was elected to preside over the proceedings. With close to 30 members in attendance, a quorum was established, allowing the meeting to proceed according to the agenda.
The Chairman elected at last year’s AGM, Kim Alexandersen, was unable to attend, having recently taken up a new position in Hong Kong and being called to an urgent meeting in Singapore. In his absence, Vice Chairman Alexander Wetterling read a statement from Kim Alexandersen, which concluded with his formal resignation as Chairman of the Thai-Nordic Association.
The assembly elected Mr. Alexander Wetterling of Sweden as the new Chairman. The rest of the board was elected as follows:
Vice Chairman & Treasurer: Filip Wallberg, Sweden
Secretary: Bo Lund Pedersen, Denmark
Director: Kunnuda Wallberg, Thailand
Director: Thordur Adalsteinsson, Iceland
Director: Morten Aasheim, Norway
For the year ahead, the new board plans to continue the annual Crayfish Party, which is scheduled for 20 September, along with three social events throughout the year. The Thai-Nordic Golf Section will maintain the TNGS Golf Cup under the leadership of Golf Captain Khun Petcharat Jiambutr. The association will also continue supporting the Danish Christmas Bazaar and the Juleskål at the Nordic Christmas Mass.
A new initiative for the coming year is a Viking Party on board a ship sailing along the Chao Phraya River, presented by incoming board member Bo Lund Pedersen.
Following the AGM, attendees enjoyed a delightful dinner with beautiful views of the RBSC race track.
