Vietnam Airlines signed cooperation agreements with SAS and Copenhagen Airport on 20 October, aiming to strengthen air links between Vietnam and the Nordic region.

The memorandums of understanding were exchanged at the Vietnam–Denmark Business Forum in Copenhagen during Vietnamese President To Lam’s state visit.

The SAS agreement covers codeshare flights, frequent flyer programmes, cargo, distribution systems and corporate customers. The airlines also plan to share market information and explore further business opportunities.

Codesharing allows airlines to sell tickets on each other’s flights under their own flight numbers.

Further connections under consideration

Under the airport agreement, Vietnam Airlines and Copenhagen Airport will explore market development and ways to improve operations. Additional direct routes and higher frequencies may be considered, depending on passenger demand and commercial viability.

However, the announcement confirms no new routes or launch dates.

Vietnam Airlines already operates a direct service between Ho Chi Minh City and Copenhagen, launched in December 2025.

The airline also signed an agreement with the Confederation of Danish Industry to strengthen ties with Danish businesses and explore commercial opportunities.

DI listed all three partnerships among 15 agreements signed at the forum.
