The First Denmark-Chengdu Water Day in China

Danish Ambassador Friis Arne Petersen inaugurated the first Denmark-Chengdu Water Day at the Nordic International Management Institute in Sichuan Province on May 4.

To support the Danish Minster of Trade and Investment’s recent strategy of increasing export of Danish water technology in emerging markets, Denmark-Chengdu Water Day was launched. The aim is to open the Sichuan water market for Danish water technology.

Introduced in Chongging in 2008, Denmark Water Day concept’s main objective is to set a forum for Danish companies to facilitate the Chinese water market through business-to-business meetings and relevant government networking events.

“China and Denmark face a number of global challenges which call for strengthened cooperation for mutual benefits. Water shortage, water treatment and water savings belong to those challenges, and with Denmark-Chengdu Water Day, Denmark and the Sichuan Province take the first step to proactively solve the water challenges we face.” said the Danish Ambassador at the event.

Other Danish participants include AVK, DHI, Grundfos, Krüger and Novozymes.
