USD 8.5 million in grants to Norwegian Company

Renewable Energy Corperation ASA (REC) from Sandvika in Norway will receive USD 8.53 million in grants for research in solar photovoltaic cell from Singapore’s Energy Innovation Office. The grants, given by the Innovation Office’s Clean Energy Research Program, will assist REC with its efforts to develop Metal Wrap Through technology, which is supposed to increase efficiency of solar cells from 16 percent to 17.2 percents, REC will work with its partner ASM Technology Singapore Pte Ltd on this project. 

“The business-friendly environment in Singapore, as well as its strong protection of intelligent property, government support and skilled workforce makes it a strategic location for us.” said REC Senior VP of Sales and Marketing, Cells and Modules Luc Graré to SolarServer.
