The Danish Rønde Rotary Klubs Pattaya Fond, one of the most faithful supporters of Father Brennan’s orphanage in Pattaya over the years, have decided to permanently cancel all further support of the orphanage. The management of the Pattaya Fond had first demanded among others the removal of Father Brennan from the management of the orphanage if the Fund was to continue its support. This demand was based on an article in a British newspaper accusing Father Brennan of supporting paedophiles’ wish to adopt some of “his” children.
Over the years, more than 100 young Danish male and female volunteers have also been supported by the Fund during typically a six month apprenticeship at the orphanage. This arrangement will now likewise be cancelled.
The management of the Rotary Club’s Pattaya Fund will ask each donor whose contribution has so far been earmarked to support the orphanage, if they wish to continue supporting the orphanage. Otherwise, the Fund will identify other institutions in Thailand in need of their support.
