OMD Malaysia Wins Carlsberg Account

OMD
Malaysia has been awarded the media planning and buying account for Carlsberg
Malaysia estimated to be worth of RM15 million.
    According
to a statement, the change was part of streamlining its agency
relationships globally.
    OMD and the
Carlsberg Group have since 2006 had a media services agreement that involves
most of the international markets that the Carlsberg Group is active in. The
account will be transferred to OMD effective Aug 1.
    “OMD has so
far exemplified a great passion for our business, thorough understanding of the
consumer and the category, and has proactively shown clear strategic thinking
and direction. At the same time, we also extend our appreciation to Carat for
the close cooperation and services provided during their contract with us,”
said Carlsberg Malaysia
marketing general manager Ole S Nielsen.
    Omnicom
Media Group Malaysia managing director Andreas Vogiatzakis said: “The Carlsberg
Group is not only a global leader, but a company with a clear vision and strong
determination of being the leading player in the Malaysian beer market as
well”.
    He said
that OMD was proud to be Carlsberg’s strategic partner and was committed to
deliver the strategic integrated solutions Carlsberg needs to achieve its
vision.
