Bangkok’s popular light and digital-art festival, “Awakening Bangkok,” returns for its seventh year from November 8-17, lighting up the historic Phra Nakhon district under the theme “One Light, One Rising.” This year, a standout feature is a collaboration with Finnish design brand Marimekko, marking the 60th anniversary of its iconic Unikko floral print.
The festival showcases 36 installations, with highlights at Yodpiman River Walk, Museum Siam, and Rommaninat Park. The Marimekko installation, developed with Alternate Reality Studio, will project the Unikko design onto Museum Siam, celebrating cross-cultural art connections.
Visitors can explore routes through Bangkok’s heritage sites, where installations reflect themes of Sustainability, Prosperity, Inclusivity, and Positivity. Free tuk-tuk shuttles, maps, and a digital app enhance the experience for locals and tourists alike.
“Awakening Bangkok” aims to inspire and support local communities, inviting everyone to rediscover the city’s vibrant culture in a new light.
