A big meeting for Danes living abroad will take place at the Royal Danish Embassy on Thursday February 8, 2018 from 7.00 PM to 10.00 PM. The meeting is supported by all the institutions and associations involving Danish expats in Thailand: Danes Worldwide, the Royal Danish Embassy in Bangkok, the Danish-Thai Chamber of Commerce (DTCC), Den Danske Kirke i Thailand, Skandinavisk Samfund Siam (SSS), and Danish Women’s Network.
To join the meeting, email Passport Number or ID Number for yourself and each person that you will bring along to Danes Worldwide, Senior Manager, Pál Jauernik, [email protected] Deadline is 4 February 2018. There is a charge of 200 Baht to be paid at the entrance. Nobody gets in without prior signup.
The meeting is open for all Danes and spouses, family members, or others with an affiliation to Denmark. The meeting offers a unique opportunity to get an update on new rules and issues, which affect most Danes residing in Thailand. Among the topics on the agenda are the following:
- Newly instated rules regarding Family Unification
- New rules regarding Public Pensions
- Maintaining citizenship for Danish children born abroad
- Conversion of IB grades for students wishing to study in Denmark
- Danish language education
The meeting will take place in both Danish and English in order for everybody to be able to join. There will be served light refreshments and soft drinks.
PROGRAMME OF THE MEETING
7.00 PM Welcome speech by H.E. Uffe Wolffhechel, Danish Ambassador to Thailand.
7.15 PM Michael Andersen, Director of The Danish-Thai Chamber of Commerce (DTCC), informs about the activities of the Chamber of Commerce.
7.30 PM Anne Marie Dalgaard, Secretary General of Danes Worldwide, accompanied by Paw Kraglund, the Director of Instructional Programs. Anne Marie will then inform about the Organization in general, focusing on political issues and advocacy. Paw will inform about Danes Worldwide’s Online Danish Language programs on various levels.
8.15 PM Open discussion, questions and networking.
