A visiting Finnish politician has praised China’s development model, highlighting its long-term planning, technological progress and focus on social improvement, Bastille Post Global reports.
Jiri Mantysalo, vice chairperson of the Communist Party of Finland, shared his views in an interview with CGTN after visiting Zhejiang Province.
“What stood out most was the mix of technology, infrastructure and efforts to improve everyday life, especially in rural areas,” Mantysalo said.
During his visit, he described Zhejiang as an example of coordinated development, where economic growth is combined with environmental protection, public planning and innovation.
He also pointed to China’s five-year plans as a key reason for what he sees as consistent progress.
“These plans provide a clear framework and help ensure that long-term goals are actually implemented, not just discussed,” he said.
Mantysalo added that, from a European perspective, it is notable that national priorities can be maintained over decades through structured planning.
He concluded that China’s approach links strategy with execution, aiming to improve living conditions while balancing economic and environmental goals.
