The Embassy of Finland in Hanoi has introduced a new electronic appointment booking system for selected consular services from June 2026.
The new system covers appointments for residence permit identification and passport services, while Schengen visa applications will continue to be handled through the outsourced service provider VFS.
The embassy has designated Tuesdays for residence permit applications from employed persons and other applicant categories, while Wednesdays and Thursdays are reserved for student residence permit applications. Customers who book appointments on the wrong day will not be served.
According to the embassy, appointment bookings remain free of charge, and applicants are advised not to pay any service or booking fees for embassy appointments.
New appointment slots will be released at regular intervals, and applicants are responsible for checking availability through the online booking system.
The embassy noted that it will not respond to inquiries regarding when new appointment slots become available.
