The Danish Seamen’s Church in Singapore is hosting a special farewell brunch on Sunday 13 April 2025 at 10:00 to say goodbye to Seamen’s Pastor Carl Bjarkam and assistant Maria-Louize Bjarkam Helbo, who are returning to Denmark after five years of dedicated service.

The event will take place in the church courtyard and all members of the community are invited to join. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish or cake to contribute to the buffet, as the regular kitchen helpers will be on holiday.

For early risers, a farewell run is also planned for 9:00, one hour earlier than originally announced.

The farewell brunch will be a chance to share memories, say a few words, or simply enjoy a hyggelig morning together. Carl and Maria are returning to Funen, where they will both continue their work as pastors.

To help with planning, guests are encouraged to RSVP via the Facebook event page, though drop-ins are also welcome. Anyone interested in helping in the kitchen is also welcome to volunteer.
