The Embassy of Denmark in China has announced the appointment of Jonas Bruntse Dahl Nielsen as Minister Counsellor, Head of Trade, and Coordinator of the Trade Council China. His arrival is expected to strengthen the embassy’s support for Danish companies operating in the Chinese market.
Nielsen has been with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2017, gaining experience in economic diplomacy, strategy, and organisational development. Prior to his diplomatic career, he held positions in the private sector focusing on sustainability, innovation, and digitalisation, mainly working for the Trade Council of Denmark in MENA (Middle East and North Africa).
“Trade relations are at the heart of Denmark-China relations, and I look forward to supporting the constructive development of Danish business opportunities,” Nielsen said in a Facebook post on the Embassy’s page. “It is exciting to be back in China and to further develop my understanding of Chinese society and culture.”
He holds a Master’s degree in Business and Development Studies from Copenhagen Business School and a Master’s in International Management from CEMS MIM and University College Dublin.
