The Danish Embassy in Beijing has welcomed Maise Biørn Jørgensen as a new member of its political team.
Jørgensen will focus on China’s foreign and development policy. However, the embassy has not announced her formal job title or diplomatic rank.
Jørgensen welcomed her return to China and looks forward to working with Chinese foreign and development policy and further exploring the country.
Jørgensen holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Copenhagen. She also completed an exchange programme at the University of Liverpool.
She joined Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2023. There, she worked in the Department of International Law and Human Rights.
Previously, Jørgensen worked at Denmark’s Ministry of Justice. During that period, she joined Greenland Police in Nuuk on secondment and worked as a prosecutor.
The posting also marks a personal return to China. Jørgensen spent four years in Shanghai with her family during her childhood.
The embassy said her legal and international experience will support the political team’s work in Beijing.
