Danish Embassy in Vietnam seeks trade adviser for maritime sector

The Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam is hiring a Trade & Investment Adviser to strengthen Danish business engagement in Vietnam’s maritime and defense sectors, with a primary focus on maritime.

The full-time position is based at the Danish Economic and Commercial Office (DECO) in Ho Chi Minh City. The contract is for two years with the possibility of extension and is expected to begin on 1 September 2025.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Commercial Counsellor and a regional team of sector advisers, supporting Danish companies entering or expanding in the Vietnamese market. Responsibilities include advising on market entry strategies, developing new commercial initiatives, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and monitoring market trends within sectors such as shipping, port infrastructure, shipbuilding, maritime security, and naval defence.

Applicants should have a relevant university degree and at least five years of experience in international trade, business development, or related fields. Familiarity with Danish or Nordic companies, Vietnam’s regulatory environment, and public-private partnerships will be considered an asset.

The role includes frequent collaboration across Southeast Asia and some travel to Denmark. Fluency in English is required, while knowledge of a Nordic language is considered an advantage.
