Representatives from the Nordic chambers of commerce in Malaysia recently held a high-level dialogue with the Prime Minister’s Office to explore strategic collaboration in support of Malaysia’s economic transformation. The meeting was chaired by Economic Advisor H.E. Nurhisham Hussein.

The discussion focused on four key areas: visa and immigration reforms to attract global talent; joint efforts in talent development, particularly in TVET, STEM, and early education; accelerating Malaysia’s green transition through partnerships such as the Danish-initiated Green Transition Alliance; and Nordic contributions to future technologies including cybersecurity, digital inclusion, and 6G.

Present at the meeting were the ambassadors of Sweden, Finland, and Denmark—H.E. Niklas Wiberg, H.E. Anne Vasara, and H.E. Kristine Vankilde Berner—as well as senior representatives from Nordic companies including Tetra Pak, Ericsson, KONE, Carlsberg Group, Novo Nordisk, DNV, and Haarslev.

The Nordic Chambers — SwedCham Malaysia, Malaysia Norway Business Council, and DanCham Malaysia — emphasized the region’s readiness to partner with Malaysia in building a greener, more inclusive, and innovation-driven future.
