Recently, the Danish Royal Court announced that the titles “Supplier to the Royal Danish Court” and “Royal Warrant Holder” will phase out by the end of 2030. A.C. Perchs, one of Denmark’s oldest tea suppliers, has held the royal title since 2002. Managing Director Christian Hincheldey stated, “The royal warrant has helped us open doors, especially in several Asian countries.” He is currently in South Korea, where he points out that this status has played a crucial role in accessing the exploding market of premium goods.
Danæg’s Disappointment in Royal Status Changes
Meanwhile, Danæg, the egg producer with nearly 120 years of history connected to the royal title, expressed disappointment over this recent decision. CEO Anders Raskov Kodahl remarked, “We respect this decision; however, we are somewhat saddened. The royal status has been significant for our exports, particularly in Asia, where we are developing our market position.”
The royal title has long provided Danish companies with a prestigious branding advantage, particularly in emerging markets. Deputy Director General Thomas Bustrup from the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) highlighted the importance of this recognition, especially in places like China.
