Hundreds of Vietnamese students gathered in Hanoi on Thursday 18 September 2025 for the launch of this year’s Denmark In Your Eyes painting competition, held under the theme “Green Living.”

The contest is co-organized by the Danish Embassy in Vietnam and the Vietnam–Denmark Friendship Association (VIDAFA). It is open to students from primary to secondary school and forms part of the celebrations leading up to the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Vietnam in 2026.

According to the Danish Embassy, the initiative aims to raise awareness and inspire climate action through creative expression.

“This competition is not just about drawing, but also an opportunity for students to freely imagine a more beautiful world, and at the same time affirm that such a world can absolutely become a reality. I am very excited to admire the works from students from all over the country and share with them their own stories about the journey of living green and protecting the planet,” Danish Ambassador Nicolai Prytz said.

The deadline for submissions is 20 December 2025, with the award ceremony scheduled for the end of the 2025–2026 school year in Hanoi.

This year’s theme encourages students to reflect on how small daily actions — such as turning off lights, carrying cloth bags, cycling short distances, or planting trees — can have a lasting environmental impact when widely adopted.
