A Finnish defence company is looking to expand into Southeast Asia, with Malaysia seen as a potential entry point.

According to Bernama, Forcit Defence is exploring opportunities to introduce its land and naval mine systems in the region.

Talks with Malaysian Navy

Vice President Hannu Hytti said Southeast Asia has been identified as a key growth region.

The company has already held discussions with the Malaysian Navy, particularly around its mine-laying capabilities, and is now considering how to establish a local presence.

“We have already started discussions with the Malaysian Navy. Malaysia could be the first area we would like to enter,” he said.
