Travellers heading to Laos now have one more thing to remember before departure.
All foreign visitors must complete the Lao Digital Immigration Form (LDIF) within three days before arriving in Laos, and again within three days before leaving the country, according to the Travel and Tour World.
The digital form replaces the old paper arrival and departure cards at four border points: Wattay International Airport in Vientiane, Luang Prabang International Airport, Pakse International Airport and Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge I.
Don’t wait until the border
That means travellers should not wait until they are standing at the border.
The rule applies to all foreign nationals.
Travellers still need to check visa rules separately. The digital form does not replace a visa.
Passports must also be valid for at least six months after arrival in Laos and have at least two blank pages.
